COPA for Kids, June 17, 2017

When: Saturday, June 17th (Rain date, June 24th)
9:00 AM to Noon
Where: Sexsmith International Airport, CSX7
Objective: A chance to kids, and their parents, to be introduced to grass roots aviation by getting a free airplane ride!
Details: We had a very successful COPA for Kids event on June 17, 2017 at Sexsmith Airport, thanks to your involvement!  The weather cooperated and we were able to fly 143 kids aged 8-17 with 11 aircraft participating. We estimate that this one event brought well over 500 people to grass roots aviation.  For many kids this was their very first airplane ride – which for us as pilots is an absolute thrill!  A special note: 3 of our pilots flying that day were women, which is far above the national average of women involved in aviation.

The kids enjoyed static displays, a brief aircraft orientation, a 20 to 30 minute flight, plus hot dogs and drinks following their flight.  All of this was made possible by over 50 volunteers and our very generous financial sponsors.

Simply put, this is a team effort and we wouldn’t be able to run this great event without people like you.

Thank you again,

COPA National is looking for your input

Dear COPA Flight Captains,

The COPA Membership Satisfaction Survey is in full swing, 1,000 COPA members were selected in stratified sampling across Canada by KC Surveys.

Since the last survey in 2012, COPA Directors and members have forwarded the National office additional questions to be included in the next Membership Satisfaction Survey. Some of these questions were not applicable for the current Satisfaction survey but are nevertheless good and important feedback for COPA National.

For the reasons above COPA has launched two surveys and is asking if you can forward these to all your members.

IFR Equipage Survey, 12 questions:

UAV/Drone/Model Aircraft Survey, 7 questions:
